Joe Wright is directing and I love what he did with Atonement. Tom Stoppard wrote the screenplay and that is slightly iffy for me. Overall, I think it looks too glossy, too rom-com. Hopefully the actual movie has more of the Russian angst and Tolstoy’s magical ability to invoke the fantastic out of the mundane that exist in the novel itself.

Though honestly, I don’t know how anyone even saw that Makorra kiss. I had to watch the trailer three times to see it. Fans be craaaaaaaazy.

The fact that Stephanie Meyer has gotten another movie contract for her book that isn’t Twilight worries me. Just…. why? Not that Twilight should have been made into a movie necessarily but from the perspective of all the crazy fan girls buying tickets to see Robert Pattinson padding everyone’s pay checks in the film industry, yeah, it was a smart move. But this? WHY!?!
